The NSW Open Epee, Foil and Sabre Championships were held in 
Sydney in October. These tournaments are amongst the most difficult State-level fencing comps in Australia. They are part of the ACT Ranking system, to encourage fencers to prepare for national-level competition. This year ACT Fencers made up almost 30% of the entries – a good sign that ACT Fencing is steadily growing. Congratulations to all the fencers on their results and paritularly James Hales (7th) and Justin Bewsher (5th) in the Mens Open Epee, and Justin Bewsher also winning the Silver medal in the Mens Open Foil.
