Introduction
| When I joined the ACTFA committee as a general member in 2003 I had never been on a committee before. I did not know what was expected or what had gone on in the years before. What I found was that there was not a lot of help for new members of the committee, there did not seem to be much information about the history of the Association, and in fact there were no records from the years previous. With my time on the committee growing, I have been thinking about the history of Fencing in the ACT. At a Sydney competition this year I was shown a news paper clipping that indicated that Fencing was in the ACT in 1927. Previous to this we had indications from the late 60’s early 70’s only. | I am hopeful that this information can be maintained to assist future ACT fencers to understand what happened in ACT Fencing for 2008.
