ACT Fencers Convid-19 update. The Australian Fencing Federation (AFF) President held a teleconference with all state presidents last week. At this teleconference AFF confirmed that all fencing activities, including clubs, competitions and training camps were suspended until further notice. AFF review the situation in July to assess whether fencing can be restarted later in 2020.
ACTFA supports the AFF position. The ACTFA committee has decided that fees for 2020 will not be refunded, however will be credited against 2021 fees on a pro-rata basis depending on when fencing resumes in 2020. The amount of the credit will depend on whether AFF provides ACTFA any fee relief for fixed costs such as insurance. Where an individual fencer has financial difficulties due to the current crisis a refund will be considered in 2020 on a case by case basis.
