ACTFA Rankings System

The ACTFA Ranking system is signed to encourage more member fencers to attend competitions, expanding their fencing experiences, with the aim of building the Association in membership and strengthening the Fencing Community in the ACT.

The aim of the system is to determine the best fencers (male and female, open, veteran and junior, for foil, epee and sabre), based on overall participation and performance in ACT Fencing.

The Association also wants to encourage all fencers to fence the best they can, and to show them that the next levels of competition are not that hard. To this effect, all of the Cadet and below age groups are encouraged to compete in the next age group up. All age groups from Under 15 and up are encouraged to attend relevant National level events, and Under 23, Open and Veteran age groups encouraged to attend International events.

All comments are welcome throughout the year, and the Rules will be reviewed towards the end of the competition year. The Committee will be the arbiter of the rules. The President, or their delegate, will be the holder of the official rankings.

The Rankings will be a rolling system for the previous 12 months. The current rankings will be posted onto the ACTFA website after each competition. The winners will be awarded at the Annual ACTFA Presentation Day.
