ACTFA Team Selection Policy

POLICY OBJECTIVE: 

The ACT Fencing Association is committed to a fair selection process of our top fencers to represent the territory.

POLICY:

All financial members of ACTFA affiliated to AFF are eligible for selection to represent ACT in teams for their gender, eligible age group and chosen weapon(s) at State and National events.

Teams will be selected on an event by event basis. Fencers are required to indicate their availability for team events when registering for the individual event. 

Teams will be registered before or at the event by the ACTFA Team Manager (if applicable) or by a delegated person nominated by the Committee. ACTFA will pay the team registration fees.

As outlined below, teams will consist of three or four members to provide for the most competitive team possible. If there are sufficient nominations, there will be an “A” Team and a “B” Team. Individual ranking will be based on the performance at the corresponding individual event. In the event that the Team Manager needs to rank any fencers who did not compete in the individual event, the corresponding ACT ranking will be used.
