National Training Camp at AIS

Over 70 athletes and about 10 coaches from all over the country enjoyed the great hospitality of the ACT association and the impeccable organization of the logistic manager Alex Andre. Most ofthe fencers were members of the Australian Fencing Team and the Fencing squads.  Two local fencers, Callum Bodman and Jennifer Kennedy partiicpated in the Foil camp. The AFF will run two National High performance training camps at the AIS per year – the next camp will be June 19 -22.
All weapons and genders worked for four days through sessions which included bouting, individual and group lessons, foot work and technical drills, agility, speed and strengthening, physical tests, anti doping lecture and plenty of
recovery.
Most cadets and juniors on Wednesday will fly to Tokyo and then Hong Kong to compete in their national events and train with the Japanese national team.
