Congratulations to Anna Robinson

ACTFA was pleased that Anna Robinson from the Lancaster Fencing Club (and SwordPlay, and YMCA, and ANU) was awarded an ACT Sports and Recreation Thanks Award at a gala event held on Tuesday, 24 October.  This award recognises the great contribution Anna has made towards the sport of Fencing in the ACT, with many hours of volunteering.  She has maintained and grown the sport of fencing over many years, and has been instrumental in starting up a lot of our clubs whilst providing solid leadership and support, these clubs are still going strong and flourishing.

Anna brings a vibrant enthusiastic zest to our sport, combining this with a strong sense of pedagogy and responsibility.  She has instilled not only the pure skills of fencing into a large number of Canberrans, from the young to the older age group, but also a sense of excitement for the sport.

Anna and her husband Keith, attended the award ceremony along with Susan Buchanan and Janet Rickwood from the Lancaster Fencing Club, plus Garry Webster (ACTFA President) and Cerri Murphy (our Treasurer).
