The ACT Mozzies – our first ever U13/U11 Fencing team: Petra, Juliet, Hayden, Andres and Jeremy – took part in the Friendship Cup in Sydney on Saturday and the NSW U13 and U11 Championships on Sunday. It was a huge weekend of fencing for the Mozzies, but a great experience for them all, and they were fencing the best teams from Victoria, NSW, New Zealand and fencers from Japan.
For some of the teams it was their first interstate/international tournament and the others all posted PBs. Petra collected a Bronze in the Womens U11 Foil and Jeremy won Gold in the U11 Epee! Congratulations to all of them and thankyou to Team-Coach Chris Sadler. This tournament is one of the best in the world for this age-group…if not THE best, so it’s great to see the Mozzies taking part and doing well.
