The ADFA Fencing Club is based at the Australian Defence Force Academy.  It caters for members of the Defence forces, based in Canberra.  Training nights are Mondays and Thursdays. Contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

The ANU Fencing Club is based at the ANU and is the longest running Club in Canberra.  It primarily caters for students of the ANU, and is restricted to fencers over 16years.  Contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

 

Training Times:

Tuesday 7-10pm
Thursday 7:30-9:30pm
Sunday 11am - 2pm

The ANU Fencing Club runs beginner courses twice a year, in February-March and July-August, on Sundays and Tuesdays

The Canberra School of Fencing (CSF), headed by Coach Thompson Quan Wing, is based in Spence, Belconnen, at the Canberra Dance Development Centre (CDDC).  The CSF is primarily a training centre for the young (and not so young) fencer to develop their fighting skills and prepare them for competition. We provide them with a sae environment, encouragement and fun. The student will learn to show dignity in victory & defeat, a tactical mind, sportsmanship and develop strength in body & mind.

The CSF Club was established to provide a training environment for junior fencers with more than 12 months competition experience.  All junior fencers must have a full set of equipment and current ACT Fencing Association Junior Membership.

The CSF Club meets on Sunday afternoons 2:00 -3:30pm. The CSF Club will be offers beginners and senior classes, training camps and individual lessons.  Details are on the CSF website www.canberraschooloffencing.com

Engarde at Mackillop is a Tuggeranong Fencing Club working in conjunction with the St Mary Mackillop Catholic College in Mackinnon St, Wanniassa.  The club is a public club, although students of the college are offered a discounted rate.  The club meets on Monday Nights from 7:00 pm - 8.30 pm.  Lessons in Foil and Sabre are available. Opening night for 2021 will be Monday Feb 8 at the Wanniassa Campus.

 

Fencers:

Fencing at Lancaster is suitable for participants aged 14 and over.  Younger participants are welcome provided they fence with a parent or guardian. 

Venue:

Lancaster Hall at Wesley Uniting Church, Cnr Fitzroy Street and National Circuit, Forrest, ACT

Session Dates and Times: 

7.00 – 9.00 pm on Wednesday evenings during school terms.  More specific details are are available in the accompanying documents.  Fencers should note that changes from those scheduled may be required due to COVID19 issues and/or repairs to the roof of Lancaster Hall.  This was to be completed in 2020 but has been delayed.  Timely advice will be provided.

Coaches:

Anna Robinson, John Milthorpe, Sian Hicks and Nigel Nutt.  Additional specialist coaches will join us from time to time.

Maison Fencing Club is located at the Weston Creek Community Centre, 8 Parkinson Street Weston (Next to Cooleman Court).  The club specialises in Epee and aims to provide a structured training environment, with training session every Tuesday 7:00pm - 9:00pm.  

The club caters to fencers from 16 years of age, but consideration may be made on a case by case basis.  

Beginner fencing classes will be scheduled throughout the year (check our website for the next classes).

The Masters Fencing Club, is an Adults only club, that meets each Friday evening from 7pm at the Tuggeranong Archery Club, Soward Way, Greenway. The focus is on providing social, community level fencing for anyone 20+

Beginner courses and one on one lessons are available from Feb on wards.
