Introduction<\/a><\/h3>
When I joined the ACTFA committee as a general member in 2003 I had never been on a committee before.\u00a0 I did not know what was expected or what had gone on in the years before.
What I found was that there was not a lot of help for new members of the committee, there did not seem to be much information about the history of the Association, and in fact there were no records from the years previous.\u00a0 With my time on the committee growing, I have been thinking about the history of Fencing in the ACT.\u00a0
At a Sydney competition this year I was shown a news paper clipping that indicated that Fencing was in the ACT in 1927.\u00a0 Previous to this we had indications from the late 60\u2019s early 70\u2019s only. <\/td>

I am hopeful that this information can be maintained to assist future ACT fencers to understand what happened in ACT Fencing for 2008.
I would like to express my thanks to all of the members of the 2008 ACTFA committee.\u00a0 I have been blessed with the good fortune to have a committee that works well together.\u00a0 As the majority of the work of the committee is handled by email, when we do have our meetings they are a very informal affair.\u00a0 It has been a pleasure working with them all. <\/p>
