3 weapon team competiton in Penrith

The Penrith Academy of Fenicng invites all affiliated fencers to their annual Three Weapon Team Competition, to be held on Sunday 23rd July. It is a regional competition requiring a team of three fencers - male or female - one in each weapon, foil, epee and sabre.
Registration is from 8.45am and the entry fee is $35 per team. Canteen will be available on day.
Maison Escrime team comp

Thanks to Maison Escrime Fencing club in Spence for hosting a fun social team comp on the last Wendesday of school term. the mixed teams (Foil and Epee) brought together fencers from all levels from National champions to beginners.

Call for nominations - ACTFA committee

ACT Fencing is seeking nominations from fencers and members of the community to fill a vacant position of ordinary committee member on the ACTFA committee. The ACTFA committee meets approximately once a month (usually in Tuggeranong) to discuss current issues and proposals, as well as conduction some business via committee emails. ACTFA welcomes nominations from anyone that wishes to add their viewpoint to discussions. ACT Fencing thanks the outgoing committee member Letitia Abela for her years of invaluable contribution to the sport at club and state level.

AFF AGM and election of National Directors

Congratulations to ACTFA fencer and State Secretary, Garry Webster, who was elected by the state delegates as a national director on the Board of the Australian Fencing Federation last weekend in Melbourne. Garry joins Jeremy Shelley as the second member of the national board. State Coaching Director

ACTFA is calling for nominations from interested members of the fencing community to fill the position of State Coaching Director, which will become vacant from July onwards. This role is mainly administrative and involves assisting coach to complete their coaching accreditation and liaising with the national coaching director on behalf of the coaches. This is an important role for fencing in the ACT - without it there can be no coaching long-term, so please consider applying.
Australian Fencing Federation AGM

The 2017 Australian Fencing Federation AGM will take place in Melbourne on Saturday 20 May. ACT Fencing is proud to endorse the nomination of Garry Webster for a position as Director on the AFF Executive at this meeting. Garry is the current ACTFA secretary and is a past-president of our Association. The ACTFA wishes Garry all the best in Melbourne.
