The Canberra School of Fencing is starting adult beginner classes for social fencing. Please find attached the flyer.
The objective of the club is for adult beginner fencers to gain an introduction to the sport and to have a club for social fencing. Please pass on to interested friends and family who might be interested in joining a social club.

Engarde at Mackillop is holding a beginner course on the 11th May starting at 7pm.
Local ACT fencers joined athletes in the national teams and squad from around the country for a 4 day Intensive High Performance Camp at the AIS on the Anzac Day weekend. The Australian Fencing Federation hosts 4 national camps in Canberra each year.

ACTFA will be promoting ourselves and giving a demonstration at the CONNECT AND PARTICIPATE EXPO!on Saturday 28 March, 11am – 4pm at the Old Bus Depot Markets in Kingston. The EXPO will provide opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to discover the wide range of social groups in Canberra including sport, outdoor recreation, art & craft, music, performing arts, environmental and hobby groups. There will be come-and-try activities, performances, food stalls and more. Entry is free.
A free ACTION bus will run a loop every 20 – 30 minutes from Civic (Platform 10 Northbourne Ave) to the Old Bus Depot Markets in Kingston, between 11am to 4pm. For more information, please visit www.connectandparticipateexpo.com.au
Engarde Fencing Club hosted a masterclass presented by Champion fencer, Nigel Nutt, at the club venue in Mackinnon st on Monday May 11, bringing Foilists together from around the ACT. It's a great development for Foil in our region. More master classes are planned for later this year.
ACT Fencing hosted a weekend of fencing for U13s, U11s and U9 across all three weapons on the 28-29 March at St Gregory's primary school hall, Macquoid St (NOT Lowe Street campus). For many of the young fencers it was their first ever taste of competition. Thankyou to all the referees and the mums and dads that kept the fencers fed with some great morning teas and bbqs.
The ACT State Open Championships and the State Novice Championships were held at the Tuggeranong Archery Centre on the Canberra Day Long Weekend, attracting fencers from all ACT clubs as well as NSW and Victoria. Congratulations to all the Champions and medalists, and thankyou to all the helpers that made the tournament possible. Results can be found in the Main Menu under competition results. A new feature in this year's tournament was the 'Friendly' 6-fencer all-weapon relay between NSW and ACT (see image below)
