Time Table for DH McKenzie (AFF#1) 2012.

The timetable for  AFF#1  has now been placed on the Ausfencing website.  Important!:  the times and dates for the training camps in the flier are incorrect. The correct times and dates are in the news item itself.   Registrations will open in March.  You must be affiliated to ACTFA to enter competitions. This tournament is worth points in the ACTFA Rankings.   Accomodation suggestions and advice on hhow to get to the venue are in the flier on the Ausfencing website.

ACT Start up Camp

The ACT Start Up Camp for all three weapons has been moved to Sunday 19 February. The venue is the ANU Sports Hall.  Cost is $25. See the Calendar entry for details.
 

Club Fencing starts for 2012

Lancaster Club starts again for 2012 on Wednesday, February 29  in Barton.  Please read the attached info flier   for details of the Beginner Course.  More info can be found in the Club section (in the main Menu to the left).

CDDC  cleasses start Saturday 11 February 1.30pm (junior/beginners) and 2.45pm (seniors) , and bouting night Wednesdays from 7.45pm to 8.45pm the following Wednesday.

Engarde Fencing Club will resume Monday 13 February at St Mary Mackillop College, Tuggeranong from 6.30pm onwards.

Canberra Day tournament - online registrations now open.

The Canberra Day tournament will be held on March 10-11 at the Tuggeranong Southern Cross Stadium. Open Mens and Womens Epee, Foil and Sabre will be contested, as well as Novice Foil (sponsored by Jeff Grey Fencing). Please read the attached flier for details. Online registration for the tournament  is now open and can be found in the link in the Main Menu to the left.  Please note the early-bird discount before Feb.26. Online payment details are also in the registration form.   You can also register on the day. There will also be a mask check before the comps, checking for elastic straps, damage to bibs and dangerous dents to the mesh.
 

No Fencing this Australia Day (Thursday)

there will be NO fencing at Swordplay FC this Thursday because of the Australia Day Holiday.   Fencing will be back to normal the following week at 7pm Feb 2.
 

Beginner Course / Swordplay Club news

The first night of Swordpay fencing for 2012 will be Thursday 19 January, at Woden Basketball courts from 7pm onwards.  Club members - please bring along your membership fees  and affiliation fees.  The forms can be downloaded  for the club link in the Main Menu, or you can fill out the online ACTFA Affiliation form if you are over 18.

the first Beginner course at Swordplay will begin Thursday 16 February. See the attached info flier for contact details, costs and duration.  Please pass it on to friends, workmates and neighbours.

NSW Camps for Under 17s

The Summer Fencing Camp marks the beginning of the NSW fencing season. The Under 11 to Under 17 Foil and Sabre
Camps will be held at Steel Park Leisure Centre, Marrickville PCYC, 531 Illawarra Road, Marrickville from 8am to 12.15pm
on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 January. The cost is $40 per day or $70 for both days. Equipment will be available. Steel Park Cafe make really good coffee so, parents, don’t be put off by the 8am start. George and Angela will make you very welcome.
There is a separate Epee Camp scheduled for Saturday, 10 March from 8am to 12pm. The cost is $40. This camp is suitable for fencers from Under 11 to Junior and equipment will be available.
 

Swordplay Fencing Club
