The ACT Fencing Association (ACTFA) is the peak body for the sport of Fencing in the Australian Capital Territory. ACTFA also locally represents the Australian Fencing Federation and the Federation Internationale d'Escrime.

Swordplay Monthly tournament

Upcoming ACT and interstate comps there is a new addition to the ACT Fencing Calendar! Swordplay Fencing Club is hosting it's first monthly comp on Thursday 5 June (first Thursday in June). This will be an Epee comp and is open to all ACTFA members or Affiliated interstate fencers. Entry fee is a gold coin donation for Swordplay members and $5 for non- Swordplay competitors. Fencing starts at 7:00PM so get there at 6:30PM to register and warm up. The plan is to alternate Epee and foil comps on the first Thursday of each month. this comp is worth points in the ACTFA Ranking System.

ANU monthly Comp 4 May

Upcoming ACT and interstate comps The second ANU Monthly Epee comp will be held in the Old Sports at the ANU on Sunday May 4. Set up is at 9:30AM and fencing starts at 10:00AM sharp. All levels of fencing welcome and all entries raise points for their club in the Club competition. You must be a member fo ACTFA to take part, entry is $10

YMCA Fencing Program

Upcoming Events Term 2 at YMCA begins next Wednesday 30 April at Lancaster Hall Barton. Beginners and Intermediate start at 5:30PM and Open fencing starts at 6:45PM. Please read the attached FLIER for details

Swordplay News for May _ Annual Tournament

Swordplay Annual Tournament

May is a big month for Swordplay Fencing Club. The Swordplay Annual Tournament will be held on the weekend of 17-18 May at St Edmund's College. Foil will be held on the Saturday and Epee on the Sunday. All levels of fencers are invited to be part of the weekend. Team events will be held on each afternoon, so grab a few friends and register for the comp. For more info please read the attached FLIER

The next Swordplay Beginner course starts Thursday 29 May. It's easy, fun and exciting to learn to fence. Please read the attached FLIER for details on how to enroll.

AFF#2 Robyn Chaplin Memorial Tournament

Upcoming ACT and interstate comps Entries for the Robyn Chaplin Memorial Tournament (AFF #2) in Adelaide have now opened. To enter, please send your name and the events that you would like to enter to the ACTFA Treasurer
This event will be held in Adelaide on 7-9 June. You must be affiliated to ACTFA to enter. Entries close on 16 May 2008. Timetable and venue details can be found on the AusFencingEvents website.
